30 New Photowalks with Scripps News

What a great way to kick off the new year! Scripps News, the streaming TV channel available on every major platform, has renewed the Photowalks series for a second season, with a 30-episode order!

I’ve been sitting on this for a while, eager to announce it, so thrilled to do that today. The new season kicks off Sunday 1/5 at 3 p.m. ET, with an episode set in San Francisco, and Scripps is sending out a release next week, but I’ve got the advance look for newsletter readers:

Here’s the skinny: new Photowalks episodes will air on Sundays, but in reality, if you turn on Scripps during the weekend, you’re likely to see the show several times on the schedule. This week the San Francisco show is paired with the previously seen Los Angeles episode at 3:30 p.m. ET, and the block is repeated again at 5 p.m. ET.

Why I’m there: San Francisco has been wrongly maligned by some members of the media as a hotbed of crime and drug abuse, which is true, in specific neighborhoods, but not in the great, magical places any tourist would want to visit. The city is still one of the most beautiful in the United States, and always a blast to return to.

On Part 1 of the episode, we start with the cable cars, of course, ride up to Nob Hill, walk over to Chinatown and the Little Italy enclave of North Beach, take a Waymo robot taxi over to the Ferry Building and visit the waterfront of Fisherman’s Wharf. (And that’s just in the first 11 minutes.) We continue onto the Presidio and Golden Gate Bridge, and then end the show with our Photo Tips segment.

Photowalks is one of the only streaming television series produced entirely with mobile technology, including iPhones, Galaxy phones, GoPros and the Insta360 cameras.

The initial six-episode run, which began on October 5, 2024, showcased various destinations, such as the Oregon Coast, Los Angeles, New Mexico, Sicily and Japan. For the second season of the show on Scripps, Photowalks is headed to San Francisco, Savannah, Zion National Park, Portugal, France and British Columbia, among others.  

As part of the expanded partnership, Graham will appear frequently on Scripps News’ morning programming presenting features in travel and technology.

How to watch on Scripps: The channel is available on every major streaming platform. If you haven’t done so already, download the Scripps app on Amazon Fire TV, Roku or Apple. The app comes pre-loaded on smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony and Roku, and the network is also available within popular apps like Pluto, Plex, Fubo, DirectTV Stream and Sling. And yes, the schedule is in DVR listings, so feel feel to tape and watch later.
